I’m going to college so I can get a steady job for the rest of my life. But what I really want to do is have tons of different jobs, fill my life with experiences. I want to meet tons of different people; I want to know everybody else’s stories. I want to spend a year living in one place and then move to another and find new adventures. I want to travel the world. I want to meet extraordinary people, who in their everyday lives are just ordinary.
Does that make sense? I think that’s why I liked being a cashier so much…I got to meet so many people and just learn about their lives all day.

I work at a convenience store, and a today a man was buying a candy bar, not really paying any attention as he walked up to my register. Just before he got to my register, he looked up, stopped, shook his head confused, and the proceeded the rest of the way.
As I was ringing up his stuff, he continued to stare at me a little confused. He then said, “My god you are beautiful. I’m sorry, but you’re just so beautiful that it shocked me and I had to stop.”
This was seriously the best compliment I’ve ever gotten and it absolutely made my day. People are so nice.
